Opal Loveland-Fearon

Teaching status: Basic Skills Group Instructor
Opal began figure skating as an adult at the Garden City Arena many years
ago.
Her training in figure skating and moves in the field was received by Barb
Barski, Laurie Sitarski and Michelle Schroeder. Dance instruction was from
Paul Fidel and the late Winona Bambard.
Her love of this sport expands all aspects and interest. She feels a solid
understanding of the basics, i.e., good posture, good stroking and proper
use of the edges is key to developing a good skater. Hence, her all time
favorite skater is the one and only Dorothy Hamill.
Opal most enjoys passing on her love and appreciation of figure skating to
young and enthusiastic skaters. Her goal is to help young skaters in
developing basic skills and to have fun doing it.
